All around us the call for simplifying your life, action, work, dealing with your spouse, your children, boss, neighbour, finance, technics and so much more. Why is that so important and to whom? Does it even fit us? Everything has to be faster, bigger, more efficient….
Complex topics have to be tranferred in an 1 min elevator pitch or at child/houswife-ortiented presentation slides to be so called understood by the board. The reason is usually founded in the load of topics and their complexity. But what is the so called complexity? A new monster suddenly appeared?
No definitely not. But it could be a lack of focus, sense or purpose. Some of us are trying to put things in order but in times of action driven agility it won’t remain. But there is still a chance and possibility to cope with all that!
In a first step by centering youself with the following questions: What is the goal the team, the company, the department or you are supposed to reach? Is there a common goal, understood by everyone who is supposed to help reaching it? Well, if not it needs to be clarified (methods: spreading the information; ask for feedback to make sure all understood the goal and the same content in small workinggroups; give the chance to name an ambassador of each group, let them share the results with each group and sum up the results and than explain the main route again). Are some milestone defined with intermediate goals? Raise your head and try to connect yourself with the meta perspective. Are there any supporters around or who could be on. Get together and share thoughts and fears. The next step in the jungle of complexity will be much easier, because you and your employees will have more confidence based on the knowledge where to go, why and with whom.
